When during install you get dependency problems relating to "libpopt.so.0" install the "popt" package and do: $ ln -s /usr/lib/libpopt.so.1 /usr/lib/libpopt.so.0 And try the install again. When both packages are installed successfully you have to restart cups and set your printer up to use the new drivers.How To InstallLogin as root and installing with command: <code></code>$ cp -f foomatic-rip /usr/bin $ chown root.root /usr/bin/foomatic-rip $ chmod 755 /usr/bin/foomatic-rip $ ln -sf /usr/bin/foomatic-rip /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip <code>$ </code><code>rpm -Uvh bjfilter* $ /etc/init.d/cups restart</code> After installing, you must restart cups service to get the driver recognized by cups. Another step is configuring it. Unfortunately, WARNING : Do not configure it with printing configuration ship with PINUX because that driver not registering himself to foomatic db. We must configure it through cups web base configuration. Open the browser, pointing it at 'http://localhost:631' and try to configure that printer. Update: I added files for printer PIXMA IP1500, PIXUS IP3100, PIXUS IP4100 and PIXUS IP8600. For install process I think same as with PIXMA IP1000. How To Speed Up Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is a fast, full-featured web browser that makes browsing more efficient than ever before. Firefox includes pop-up blocking, a tab-browsing, integrated Google searching, simplified privacy controls that let you cover your tracks more effectively, a streamlined browser window that shows you more of the page than any other browser and a number of additional features that work with you to help you get the most out of your time online. Version 2 features an updated theme and user interface, built-in phishing protection, enhanced search capabilities, improved tabbed browsing, and inline spell checking. Mozilla Firefox provides support for various versions of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Although not officially released for certain <a id="KonaLink0" target="_top" class="kLink" style="text-decoration: underline ! important; position: static;" href="http://howto.helpero.com/howto/Speed-Up-Firefox_31.html#">operating systems</a>, the freely available source code works for many other operating systems, including FreeBSD, OS/2, Solaris, SkyOS, BeOS and more recently, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. <div style="font-weight: bold;" id="headline">Tae kwon do world body bans hijabs </div> <div id="author"> Canadian Press May 15, 2007 </div> MONTREAL -- Muslim women who participate in competitions sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation will not be allowed to wear a hijab.The decision came yesterday as a result of a request for a ruling from the Canadian Taekwon-Do Federation after two young Muslim girls were banned from a competition last month in Longueuil, Que. The girls were told they couldn't participate unless they removed their head scarves for safety reasons. However, the incident sparked controversy over minority rights in Quebec. The world federation indicated in a letter to the Canadian federation that it does not recognize any religion and would not make any accommodation for hijabs.The world federation is the sport's largest organization and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee. The rule, which forbids wearing anything under protective head-gear, remains unchanged and will be in effect when the world championships begin on Friday in Beijing. The competition is the first in a series to determine which athletes will compete in the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing in 2008. The world federation also indicates in the letter that the IOC agrees with its decision. The world federation is headquartered in Seoul and oversees world and Olympic tae kwon do competitions. The Canadian federation says it will accept the ruling. Last week, the International Taekwon-Do Federation, a separate entity which is not sanctioned by the IOC, announced it would temporarily accept competitors wearing a hijab until a committee could be formed to study the issue.

Berhemat Dengan “XP Thin Client” di Pinux Sumber: <a href="http://pinux.byethost32.com/" target="_blank">http://www.pinux.byethost32.com/</a> Jika anda mempunyai satu komputer windows XP Profesional (SP2) dalam satu jaringan bersama dengan komputer Pinux, maka tiap komputer Pinux dalam jaringan tersebut akan dapat menggunakan windows XP beserta semua aplikasi di dalamnya (misalkan: Ms Office, Internet Explorer, Game Online dan lain-lain) tanpa menginstal apapun pada komputer Pinux. Menarik bukan? Contoh: Dalam satu internet café, terdapat 10 komputer Pinux dan 1 Komputer XP Pro (SP2), maka semua komputer Pinux akan dapat menggunakan Windows XP Pro tersebut pada waktu bersamaan dan dapat menggunakan semua aplikasi-aplikasi yang terinstall dalam Windows XP tersebut. Pada mode full screen, desktop pada layar Pinux akan berganti menjadi desktop windows XP, sehingga pemakainya akan serasa menggunakan windows XP. Proses komputasi tetap dilakukan pada komputer windows XP, sedangkan komputer Pinux hanya akan berfungsi sebagai desktop interface (tampilan), oleh karena itu banyaknya user yang sanggup dilayani oleh komputer windows XP tentunya akan sangat tergantung pada kapasitas memory dan kekuatan processor pada komputer windows XP. Cek apakah kedua komputer Pinux telah dapat berkomunikasi dengan komputer XP dengan cara Pada komputer Pinux1 klik Menu – System Tools – Terminal kemudian ketik: ping 192.168.0.3 (enter) Jika ada replay berarti komputer pinux tersebut sudah mampu berkomunikasi dengan komputer windows XP. Pada komputer Pinux2 lakukan hal yang sama. 1. Patch ini berguna untuk membolehkan beberapa user login dalam satu komputer XP secara bersamaan. - Buatlah beberapa user sebanyak komputer Pinux yang ada dalam jaringan dengan type limited user. Maksud dari limited user ini adalah masing-masing user mempunyai setting/profil dan folder document sendiri-sendiri tidak bercampur sehingga tidak akan saling mengganggu. Start – Control Panel – User Account Lalu buatlah 2 user sbb: login: user01 Password: pass01 dan login: user02 Password: pass02 Catatan: Nama login ini bebas terserah anda. - Jalankan Fast User Switching: Control Panel – User Account – Change the way users log on or off pilih: Fast User Switching. - Klik kanan pada icon My Computer di desktop pilih Properties kemudian pilih tab Remote Centanglah 'Allow users to connect remotely to this computer' seperti tampak pada gambar berikut: <img alt="mycomputer properties" src="http://www.geocities.com/pinuxer/remote1.png" style="width: 421px; height: 452px;" title="mycomputer properties" /> Kemudian klik 'Select Remote Users' dan isikan userid user-user yang telah anda buat sebelumnya: <img alt="Select Remote Users" src="http://www.geocities.com/pinuxer/remote2.png" style="width: 529px; height: 452px;" title="Select Remote Users" /> Pada contoh diatas ada 50 user pinux pada satu windows xp pro (menggunakan userid xp01 s/d xp50). Perintah Pada Komputer Pinux Jika seting pada komputer windows XP telah siap, maka yang perlu dilakukan pada komputer Pinux adalah sbb: - Klik Menu – System Tools - Terminal - Misal jika akan login ke komputer windows XP yang pada contoh ber-IP 192.168.0.3 dengan menggunakan user pada windows XP dengan login ‘user01’ dan password ‘pass01’ maka ketik sbb: rdesktop -a 16 -u user01 -p pass01 192.168.0.3 & Untuk secara fullscreen: rdesktop -f -a 16 -u user01 -p pass01 192.168.0.3 & Jika anda mengalami kesulitan dalam mengetikan perintah tersedia tools yang relatif lebih mudah untuk digunakan, yaitu klik: Menu - System Tools - Desktop Connection, kemudikan isikan IP komputer windows XP (pada contoh diatas 192.168.0.3) lalu klik tombol Execute. Membuat Shortcut untuk Login ke XP Anda dapat menambahkan suatu shortcut di desktop Pinux anda sehingga user pinux tinggal mengklik shortcut jika akan login ke windows. Caranya adalah sbb: Klik kanan pada desktop Pinux – pilih New Launcher isikan sbb: Name: Windows XP Generik Name: Windows XP Comment: Login to windows XP Command: rdesktop -f -a 16 -u user01 -p pass01 192.168.0.3 & Type: Application Icon: Pilih icon sesuai selera anda Run in terminal tidak perlu di centang Lalu tekan tombol OK Jika kesulitan anda bisa mendownload shortcut dibawah ini: <a href="http://www.geocities.com/pinuxer/menuxp.tar.gz">menuxp.tar.gz</a> Keistimewan shortcut ini adalah: Sound pada XP bisa terdengar di PINUX. Shortcut ini untuk memudahkan login ke XP. Jadi tidak perlu untuk mengetik perintah panjang seperti diatas setiap kali akan login. Shortcut ini mempunyai icon tampak seperti pada gambar di bawah. Cara install shortcut: - Login sebagai root - Copykan file menuxp.tar.gz ke /root - Buka terminal: Start - System Tools - Terminal - Ketik: tar -zxvf menuxp.tar.gz cd menuxp chmod a+x install ./install - Setelah proses install selesai, isikan data IP komputer XP, username/password yang telah dicreate di XP pada file /usr/bin/windoz dengan mengetik: pico -w /usr/bin/windoz untuk menyimpan file tekan CTRL-X lalu jawab Y lalu ENTER.
